The collection number of the Holotype was incorrectly given as Couch 10004 in his 1935 publication; the correct collection number is Couch 10005. Couch (1935) notes that Septobasidium cokeri is present in collection Couch 8179 (NCU-F-0020205) the holotype of Septobasidium filiforme. Collections Couch 8440, 9224, & 10000 and Mathews 9966 are also listed in Couch’s diagnosis, but the authors have not been able to find them in the NCU collections or elsewhere through MyCoPortal
